Facilitating Wealth Generation for Women-owned Businesses
Coastal Community Capital Website 2005
"Because
of the relocation, Nata's Noodles is thriving, and employs ten workers.
The loan helped me establish long-term security for myself and my
business."
Laurie Carullo had supported herself and
daughters by working in support positions for many years, but she
longed for a secure future and retirement. In a bold step, she quit her
job and purchased Nata's Noodles, a producer, wholesaler and retailer
of fresh pasta.
Sales increased rapidly under Carullo's
management, and she soon discovered an exciting relocation opportunity
which she knew could help the business prosper even more.
"I
thought the move would increase both my retail and wholesale business,
but I was undercapitalized," she says. "We had the vision and we knew
where it could go, but the numbers wouldn't work with a traditional
bank loan. Coastal Community Capital reviewed my business plan,
supported it, and financed me so I could move forward."
Nata's
Noodles is now one of a group of fine food purveyors and other
family-owned businesses in an upscale cooperative marketplace concept.
"Coastal Community Capital made it possible to take the leap," says
Carullo. "Because of the relocation, Nata's Noodles is thriving, and
employs ten workers" |
