Stuffed French Toast
Serves 4
8 slices Sturdy White Bread
8 oz. Cream Cheese
3 oz. Strawberry Preserves
2 tsp. Nutmeg
2 tsp. Cinnamon
1/4 cup Walnuts, chopped
4 Large Eggs
2 Tbsp. Milk
1 Tbsp. Maple Syrup
Salt to taste
In a bowl whip the cream cheese with the preserves and 1/2 of the
amount of cinnamon and nutmeg. When whipped stir in the walnuts. Spread
the mixture onto each piece of bread and place together like a
sandwich. In a separate bowl beat together the rest of the ingredients.
Heat a large pan or skillet until hot. Dip each “sandwich” into the egg
mixture and carefully place onto the skillet. Cook on each side for 3-5
minutes or until golden brown. Remove from the pan cut in half, dust
with powdered sugar and serve with your favorite syrup. |
