Basic Grilled Pizza
Yield: 1 Pizza
6 oz. Pizza Dough
2-3 oz. Roasted Tomato Sauce
1/2 cup Mozzarella
1-2 Tbsp. Parmesan
Toppings of your choice
Olive Oil as needed
Preheat your grill to medium high heat. Stretch out
your dough to 1/8” thick. Lightly oil one side of the dough and
place on the grill oil side down. Cook until the dough is crisp and
golden brown, about 5 minutes. Lightly oil the top side of the dough
and turn over. Spread a thin layer of sauce onto the dough. Sprinkle
3/4 of the mozzarella onto the pizza. Place your
toppings on the pizza. All meats and vegetables should be fully cooked
before being put onto the pizza. Sprinkle the remaining cheeses onto
the pizza and cook until the cheese is melted, the toppings are hot and
the dough is crisp and golden brown, another 5-7 minutes. Remove fro
the grill and serve.
Grilled Pizza Variations
Use the following ingredients and the directions above for some interesting and unusual pizzas.
Pesto Shrimp
2 Tbsp. Basil Pesto
4-6 oz. Fresh Mozzarella
8 Shrimp, halved
1 Tbsp. Pine Nuts
Wild Mushroom
2 oz. Portabellas
2 oz. Shitakes
2 oz. Oyster Mushrooms
2 oz. Crimini
2-3 oz. Roasted Tomato Sauce
4-6 oz. Goat Cheese
Sausage and Potato au Gratin
4-5 slices Swiss Cheese
4 oz Sausage, sliced
1-2 Red Potato, sliced & grilled
1/4 cup Spinach
Lay down the slices of swiss, then top with spinach,
potato and sausage in that order. Sprinkle with crushed red pepper and
parmesan.
