Tulies
Yield: 12 large Tulies
2 Egg Whites
1/2 cup Powdered Sugar
4 Tbsp. Butter
1/2 cup AP Flour
Preheat oven to 375°. Melt and cool the butter. Lightly grease or
line a sheet pan with parchment. Whip the egg whites in a bowl until
they have reached stiff peaks. Fold in the sugar until stiff and
glossy. Trickle 1/3 of the butter down the side of the bowl. Add 1/3 of
the flour and fold together. Repeat until all of the butter and flour
have been incorporated. Place small spoonfuls on the sheet pan about 4
inches apart. Using the back of the spoon spread out the tulies into
thin rounds. Bake for 6-7 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
Remove from the oven and let cool for 20-30 seconds. If you wish to
form the tulies do so now by lifting the tulies off of the pan with a
thin spatula. Form into desired shape and let cool the rest of the way.
